Participants in this session will gain a greater understanding of how The Joint Commission strives to improve the quality and safety for all patients, as well as how its standards and resources help achieve this mission. In addition, attendees will receive information on Joint Commission activities specifically supporting the TakeCHARGE campaign’s 5 Steps to Safer Healthcare.

Mark A. Crafton
The program is presented by Mark A. Crafton, MPA, MT(ASCP) Executive Director, Strategic Alliances Division of Business Development, Government & External Relations at The Joint Commission. In this role, he oversees all Joint Commission activities related to state government outreach, payer relations, and the development and management of alliances with key external organizations. Mr. Crafton is a frequent speaker at national conferences on topics related to quality, safety and accreditation.
